The brief for the Nanning tower in Nanning (Guanxi Province) provided for a mixed-use building incorporating headquarters for the Bank, lettable office space, a five-star hotel, and public viewing gallery, with retailing, conference facilities, and a cinema at podium level. The 402m tower is intended to be an urban landmark and a highly innovative building in terms both of workplace design and sustainability.

Arup Associates’ design strategy divides the building into two triangular volumes: the tower and the 6 storey podium element, separated by a public route across the site. The tower is sculpted into an elegantly tapered form, unifying its distinct functions, and is engineered with both wind and seismic impact in mind.

南宁(广西省)超高层塔楼是作为某银行总部的多用途办公大楼而设计的，包括可租借的办公区，五星级酒店及公共观景廊，大楼的裙房则用于零售、会议设施、电影院。高度为402米的北部湾银行大厦在办公区设计与可持续功能上采用了高度创新的理念，使其成为南宁当之无愧的地标之一。

Arup Associates将大厦分为两个三角体块，其一为主体塔楼，另一个则为六层高的裙房，中间由公共设施连接。大厦被设计成一个优美的圆锥结构，将其内部不同的功能区完美统一，同时也考虑了建筑防风抗震的工程问题。
